Development
Our experience and expertise are ideal for investigating and preparing land feasibility studies to determine the viability of a project before significant investment in incurred. We are experts at managing diverse and technically challenging developments and resource consent applications for frost fans, water takes, discharges, structures and infrastructure for new vineyards, as well as dairy, pastoral and crop farm conversions. Aquaculture
We work closely with our clients to guide them through the Resource Consent application process of coastal occupancy permits for new marine farm developments, marine farm conversions and expansions.
With considerable local knowledge of the Marlborough Sounds and Tasman marine areas and related legislation, we work with our trusted partners to navigate our clients through the process to minimise risks, while providing effective communication between our clients and affected parties.
Legal
We provide due diligence reports for finance companies, investors and landowners who wish to investigate the state of existing resource consents, and the potential of obtaining additional consents. We ensure all the necessary resource consents are in place and accurate, and compare resource consents with actual resource management practises to identify areas of risk and areas of potential. We also prepare, manage and deliver expert evidence for Council, Environment and High Court hearings.
Consultation
With a sound knowledge of the Resource Management Act and district plan rules and requirements, we are experts at reviewing concept proposals in their early stages and preparing reports to assist with our clients’ decision making.
We also prepare and manage community consultation projects. We talk to affected parties about land use options and the specifics of the proposed project, before taking their feedback and formulating a report for our clients. Likewise, we assist individuals or communities through the submission process, by assessing proposed district plan changes, resource consent applications, and notices of requirement when preparing and lodging submissions on their behalf.
